Danbury, Nebraska—visit a little or visit a lot. This vibrant little community is a good example of why Nebraska is such a great state and this area is a terrific place to live.
Danbury, living the good life, where no one is a stranger. The people living here want to make sure you are as comfortable and happy as if you were in your own home town. Even though this is a small community, there are many activities that will keep you entertained. How about dinner and a pool game at the Beaver Valley Creek Café? There is a great museum in the old depot that houses many items, from displays of “days gone by” to war memorabilia. Or you can just spend time talking with the great people who live here, finding out some of the history or what they feel is so great about this area they call home.
Once a year, the third Saturday of August, Danbury is host to a Back to School Celebration that brings all the residents out for a day of enjoying each other, young and old alike. The Presbyterian Church holds a bake sale, the area quilt club shows off their beautiful handiwork, there is a small engine display and presentation that includes engines from years gone by, the Depot Museum is open for the history buffs, there are children’s events, a parade, evening BBQ at the fire barn, and concluded with a street dance. If you want to have a great day enjoying the residents of Danbury make plans to attend this yearly event.
